Library Resources Workshop: Intro to House History

Join staff from the Historical Society and the DCPL’s Washingtoniana Division in the interim Reading Room at the Newseum for an introduction to resources available for discovering the history of houses and other buildings here in D.C.!

The workshop is an opportunity to learn about the information you can glean through microfilm resources (including city directories and tax assessment records), digital resources (such as the building permits database and related History Quest platform), and hands-on access to real estate atlases.

Advanced registration is required for the free workshop. Access to the reading room is via the Newseum’s Group Entrance on C Street (enter via C Street Group Entrance beween 5th & 6th streets NW). A photo ID and a security check is required. Please arrive a few minutes prior to the event start time to allow for going through security. A staff member will greet visitors at the security entrance and escort them to the reading room.
